LEOMA

The LEOMA ADR Agreement specifies that companies will not initiate litigation against each other without first attempting to resolve the conflict through the offices of a professional business-dispute mediator.  Each party to the agreement signs a legally binding contract with LEOMA, barring it from filing suit against another signer until the mediation effort is complete.  Records show that mediation successfully resolves 90% of the disputes in which it is invoked.  It is interesting to speculate what effect this agreement might have had on our industry if it had been in effect since 1970.  The companies below are parties to the LEOMA ADR Agreement:

LEOMA members who wish to become parties to the ADR Agreement should make two copies of the contract, sign both, and forward them to LEOMA headquarters.  The LEOMA executive director will sign both, retain one in LEOMA's files, and return the other.
